Privacy policy

Last updated 31 October 2026

Autobom is a mobile app that furnishes a photo of your room with real pieces from real stores. This policy explains what the app collects, why, where it is stored, who processes it, and how you delete it. We collect only what the app needs to furnish your room and keep your account. We do not run ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.

What we collect

Data Why
Email address and password To create your account, sign you in, verify your email, and keep your rooms and credits with you on every device.
Room photos The photo of your room is what the app reads, measures, and furnishes.
Inspiration photos (optional) If you add a photo of a look you like, we borrow its palette and mood.
Your brief The room type, the style you describe, and any adjustments you ask for.
Furnished photos and shopping lists The result of each room, saved to your history so you can come back to it.
Purchase data Which credit pack you bought, when, and the store transaction identifier, so we can add the credits to your account.
Credit balance and usage How many credits you have and how many rooms you read each day, so the service stays fair and within limits.

We do not collect your name, contacts, precise location, device identifiers for advertising, or anything from your photo library other than the photos you choose to upload. Camera and photo library access is used only when you take or pick a photo.

Where it is stored

Your account, rooms, photos, credits, and purchases are stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions), on Google Cloud servers. Firebase processes this data on our behalf under Google's privacy terms. Each room belongs to the account that created it, and the app's security rules let only you read your rooms.

Photos sent to OpenAI

To furnish a room, the app sends your room photo, your inspiration photo if you added one, and your brief to OpenAI. OpenAI's models read the room, pick the pieces, and produce the furnished photo. This happens through OpenAI's API. Under OpenAI's API data usage policies, API content is not used to train OpenAI's models and may be kept by OpenAI for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse, after which it is deleted. We send only what is needed to furnish that room. We do not send your email address or account details to OpenAI.

Do not upload photos that show other people or anything you would not want processed this way.

Purchases

Credits are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment. We never see your card or bank details. Purchases are processed by RevenueCat, which tells our servers that your account bought a given credit pack so we can add the credits. RevenueCat receives your account identifier and the purchase details, under RevenueCat's privacy policy. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google; if a purchase is refunded, the credits are removed from your account.

Store listings

The furnished room links to real listings at third-party stores such as IKEA, JYSK, Mobexpert, The Home, and Paris14. We keep a catalogue of their products on our servers. When you tap a piece, you leave the app and open the store's website, which has its own privacy policy. We do not share anything about you with those stores.

How long we keep it

Deleting your data

You can delete everything from inside the app, in the Account tab:

You can also contact us and we will delete your account for you.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about you. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under the GDPR, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing is the contract with you (to furnish rooms you ask for and run your account) and your consent when you upload a photo.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored on Google Cloud with access limited to your account. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your password private and let us know if you suspect a problem.

Children

Autobom is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes are also announced in the app.
